as for thomas, though, he's established a mental connection between them only so far that tetsuo can get that thomas's mind is protected. trying to get in will be like slamming up against a steel wall. more in-depth picking will give him a sort of mental landscape like a monolithic maze, with steel walls going up and up and up to a sky that can never be reached. it's cold and silent and offers nothing. ]
