[Sleep was an amazing thing, when Tetsuo could get it. He took any chances to go for it these days, when his body didn't seem to randomly hate him. Meaning he's half asleep draped on the couch when Kaneda decides to show up.
There's no mistaking that voice; even as out of it as he was, Tetsuo's instantly jolted awake. A few things flash through his mind. Kaneda?! What the hell, what'd he do this time? Wait. He didn't do anything this time! He's about ninety percent sure he's managed to stay out of Kaneda's face for a couple days.
[There's an...awkward moment as he shifts (his) the door out of the way, setting it to the side before walking in. It occurs to him too late that that's HIS door, and that he should probably take this moment to reclaim it. Oh well, there were other topics at hand.
A part of him feels bad for waking him--the small part of him that still worried about Tetsuo's well-being.
But something caught his attention, and he knew just who would know about it.]
[Someone...gave him a bike? Well, he's not going to downplay that--his face really does look surprised (and somewhat happy Tetsuo's functioning like normal again).
But...something's not adding up here.]
Wha? Who would just buy you a bike?
[What kind of rich friends are you making, buddy. He walks in, standing a few feet from the bed with his hands stuffed in his pockets, honestly curious now.]
[Hey hey now he never said anyone BOUGHT it. In fact, Tetsuo's pretty damn sure there was no monetary transaction involved in the process. It was more... whatever weird reality warping thing that guy does, and suddenly it exists. Took him the whole way home to accept he wasn't imagining it somehow.
So. Have a belligerent shrug. Any part of that question he CAN answer, he doesn't plan to.]
[There it is, that warning tone. The 'big brother' voice that Kaneda wore when he wanted Tetsuo to know he was being serious.
His hands dig themselves out of his pockets, fists clenching. Maybe he should just accept this. He'd always wanted Tetsuo to get a new bike. Maybe it was selfish that he'd wanted to be the one to get it. Make up for the crash--make up for the incident when they got here. But something about this doesn't seem right.]
You think the silent treatment works on me? Out with it.
[This is bullshit. This is total bullshit, and he knows Tetsuo's lying. A part of that hurts--and a part of it feels guilty. That hand curls in more into a fist.]
I don't like the idea of some outsider giving my boys their bikes.
[The truth was, Kaneda had hurt him. He'd hurt him deeply the second he got here. Before that, he'd hurt him for years.
There's some deep, self-destructive, furious part of Tetsuo that wants to inflict that same pain back. Keep inflicting it until he doesn't hurt anymore. Whether or not he really means it -- and he's not sure if he does.]
[A part of him wants to slug Tetsuo across the face. In fact, if he could watch himself in the third person, he'd be patting himself on the back for not taking out Tetsuo's face right then and there. Maybe what happened back home had tempered him.
But that didn't mean he wasn't going to speak his mind, and put Tetsuo right back where he belongs.
He looked after this shithead since they were kids, and he deserved better than this.]
Action;
[Yeah, someone's storming into the building, a little frantic. Thankfully everyone's mostly out of the house except for the cats.]
TETSUO!!
[Now what could be his problem...]
Action;

So what the fuck Kaneda??]
WHAT?!
Action;
A part of him feels bad for waking him--the small part of him that still worried about Tetsuo's well-being.
But something caught his attention, and he knew just who would know about it.]
Who's bike is that out there?
Action;
[Sitting up, glaring blearily. It's not an emergency? Whyyyyy]
It's mine.
Action;
[At least his voice lowers, leaning on the side of the doorframe.]
Where'd you steal it from?
Action;
[Tetsuo's never been a good liar. Case in point, not looking at Kaneda and muttering.]
Action;
Alright, out with it, Tetsuo.
Where'd you get it?
[Because if you're lying about STEALING it...then its MUCH worse.]
Action;
What's it matter? It's mine.
Action;
Tetsuo.
Tell me where you got it, now.
[It's seemingly an overreaction, but Kaneda has his reasons... you know.
Future reasons.]
Action;
[And he's not supposed to talk about any of this, so stop pestering him already]
Action;
But...something's not adding up here.]

[Kaneda takes a step back, looking like he'd just been shot.]
What...?
[Even though Kaneda was angry at Tetsuo, and vice versa, you just didn't say things like that. There was a code, a brotherhood.]
What the hell are you talking about?? You're a Capsule!
Action;

2/2 Action;
Feeling all big and grown up now?
Action;
Action;
...
That bike doesn't suit you.
Action;
[A frustrated noise; he can't find an answer and that just makes it worse. He hadn't thought any of this through, and that's exceedingly clear]
Shut up! I can worry about that later!
Action;
Get rid of it, Tetsuo.
[It's that final step before shouting. As a last warning.]
Get rid of it before you get yourself killed out there!
[Or before you kill everyone else...]
